Transfer Images onto any Surface

Can I just say how much I hate worthless pins. Not that this will turn out to be one, but that is definitely how this process started. I've seen this post on a bunch of my friends boards and thought- this would be great. My mom and I had talked about doing some kind of tile/hanger holder for in my dad's bathroom downstairs and I saw one that used nail polish that I sent to her. Well, when I saw this, I thought- it looks way easier! So, pinned the pin and thought I would look at how it works this week.

Sadly to say- all the pin does is lead you to a picture. No instructions, no description. It is a worthless site full of pictures. I won't even waste my breath mentioning them. Needless to say, I went in search of the real pin so that I could learn how to do it. I found Our Prairie Home from google and decided she's got the skills. She is a little more country than I am, but I feel in love with her Christmas decorating (I love Christmas!). So, lets get down to business.

You Need:
1. Printer Paper
2. Spray Adhesive
3. Freezer Paper

How to:
1. Spray the piece of paper with the spray adhesive and adhere your freezer paper to the printer page paper side down. The waxed side of the paper should be facing out. This is the side that you will print on.

2. Find your image that you would like to have imprinted onto your item. You will need to print this image out- but print it as a mirror image (otherwise any writing will be transferred backwards instead of reading it correctly). Most printer setting have a mirrored image setting in the printer properties under advanced. Or, take your photo into a photo editing program and flip it horizontally and then save it.

3. Take the piece of paper that you've adhered to the freezer paper and place it freezer paper size down into your computer tray. Click Print. Be careful picking the paper up- the ink may smear so don't try to touch it where the ink printed.

4. Turn the paper upside down onto whatever you want to transfer it to. Lay it down carefully.

5. Gently, apply firm pressure over the paper to transfer the image. Don't let the paper wiggle around or you will smudge your image!

6. Lift the paper off and Voila! you have your image on your item.

* Now, she does say that this is not machine washable. I do have a tutorial on how to transfer an image using mod podge which apparently is. Check back later if that's something that interests you to learn!!
